Spotlight Support, providing care in the community since 2017.
Spotlight Support was founded in 2017 by Emma Finch. Emma worked within the care sector for 8 years before founding Spotlight.
Spotlight Support provides 1:1 support as well as offering group and respite support to primarily young adults with additional support needs within Edinburgh.
Each support package is very much tailored by the support needs of the clients who we support. We can be flexible with support times and activities when on shift and aim to set achievable goals and targets with our clients.
Various support packages range from supporting clients at home, at work placements, at college, or heading out into the community to learn about their surroundings and how to positively interact with the public.
Spotlight support has a varied staff team with each unique staff member bringing their own skills and personality to their support role. Each staff member undergoes disclosure checks and mandatory online training before taking up their role and is also supported in continued learning throughout their employment.
Spotlight also opened a new office space in 2020 which is used as an additional drop-in space for staff and service users.
This space has kitchen facilities where staff can help support individuals to learn some cooking skills as well as a craft area with supplies and a tv corner where films and games are available.
Spotlight aims to provide everyone in the family with a break and respite breaks are something Spotlight has provided since we opened.
We have provided support in the UK and abroad with the max time being 2weeks.
Within the scopes of respite, Spotlight is also able to provide support within client’s homes if required.
